Enters market of chlorine-free water treatment
Waterco’s acquisition of Pool & Spa Poppits reflects the growing demand for healthier water treatment products, especially by those who suffer from respiratory diseases and skin ailments.
Approved by the Sensitive Choice® program of the National Asthma Council Australia and the Asthma Foundation NZ, Pool & Spa Poppits offers a viable alternative to traditional chlorine and bromine chemical solutions. No other system has been endorsed in either country.
Bryan Goh, Waterco’s group marketing director, calls the acquisition a natural next step.
“Pool & Spa Poppits is really a pioneer; it was one of the first to market chlorine alternatives – and has done so very successfully. Combined with Waterco’s technological capabilities, this was an ideal partnership,” Goh says.
“These days, many progressive households take precautions to control allergens such as dust mites, mould and pollen – but what about spas, spa baths and swimming pools? It is now possible to use a product that is safe and effective for all spa users, including people with asthma and allergies.”
Waterco will continue to work with Pool & Spa Poppits (Poppits) to market Sanosil and a range of other chlorine free products for swimming pools. They are also working together to create chlorine-free swimming pool sanitisation systems.
“I am really thrilled that the vision we had for the Poppit brand – to be recognised around the world as THE brand that provides people with a ‘healthy alternative’ – will be brought to fruition with the resources and infrastructure that Waterco provides,” says Poppits’ previous owner and now general manager of the division, Rob Anderson. “We see great growth opportunities both in Australia and in international markets.”
The Poppits brand product range is produced to strict quality standards and the products are designed to be kind to asthmatics, gentle on sensitive skin and to protect the environment.
“There’s a large shift to alternative forms of sanitisation, and Poppits’ solution is triply effective,” explains Rob Anderson, founder of Pool & Spa Poppits. “It’s kind to asthmatics, gentle on sensitive skin and sympathetic to the environment.
“Put simply, it’s an easy to use chlorine-free sanitising system that’s perfect for those suffering from allergies or living with Asthma. It’s great news for those suffering from eczema, and creates a more pleasurable swimming experience.”
